Ok, Is This Too Nerdy?

I found this webstie called zazzle.com in which you can design your own t-shirts. They have all styles of shirts (short sleeve, long sleeve, tank tops etc. etc.). So I was thinking how great to make shirts advertising this blog which I could wear at races and so on. Maybe not to race is as they are just plain cotten, but before and after maybe.....get the word out? Just an idea. Might just be too nerdy even for me though.

Today we had a 40 minute tempo run. I don't know if I like these runs. I mean they are supposed to be hard I know, but I just don't feel like I know what I am doing. So today we ran a normal speed for roughly 15 mintues. Then I broke the next 20 minutes into 4 minute segments. I would try and speed up at each segment. Then from 12 -14 minutes I hit the top speed I would hit and then slowed down from 14-16 minutes and then again from 16-20 minutes, then did about a 6-7 minute cool down. I guess this is about right, and unlike last time we tried a temp run I was able to get all the way through it which is always good news.

Tomorrow is easy three, and then taking Bob's advice we will just run next week distance this week since we are racing next week. I hope all this speed stuff & harder runs helps with our time in the 1/2 marathon. Last time we ran this race we were training in Bloomington, IN and had the help of hills to get us stronger. So we'll just have to see.

I don't think it's nerdy at all. It's a good idea.

thanks! I wanted to put a picture of the shirt I made but it wouldn't let me copy the picture (I am guessing until I purchase it....)

It's a great idea, but I say foot the extra bucks and get a nice racing shirt.
And Leah, humor me, but I don't recommend taking my advice, at least not very often. :)

Yeah I looked for some nice racing shirts, but I couldn't find any online things. I am thinking a nice long sleeve dealy to wear before the race...and maybe to the expo...

Cotton? Don't they have "technical" shirts?

They do not have technical shirts which is really too bad. I had quite a hard time finding techincal shirts to use to race it so if you find some please let me know. We got these to wear to and from races, and maybe for training runs with a techincal shirt underneath.

There are some places here in Vancouver that do custom screen printing on technical shirts but they charge an arm and a leg for setup charges! One place just quoted me CAD$92 for ONE custom technical shirt. TWELVE would only be about $30 more but I only want ONE.

I'll probably just do what you did -- get one long sleeved shirt from zazzle to wear before and after races. :-(

$92 is super expensive!! I'll keep my eye out and let you know if I find anything. The long sleeve t's worked alright though. Jason and I wore ours to our race this weekend and although nerdy as we were both wearing the same shirt, i did notice some people checking it out! Good Luck!
