Chicago Wins Olympic Bid!

It'll be fun watching what happens with this.
It would be so exciting to have the games in our city!

Ah...girl. We still have to compete against all of those international cities...but we are getting CLOSER. I can not wait! I am SO glad that I moved here now.

It's on. I think we should try out for the synchronized swimming team!!

Actually. I'm secretly excited about watching the marathon. :) And trying to get tickets for all the different events if we're selected by the IOC!

Good luck with the Olympic bid but be prepared for years of inconveniences and higher taxes if you ultimately win. My city is hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics and we already have frequent traffic snarls due to olympic-related road, venue and subway construction. I'm certain that higher taxes will follow. Having said that, I'm pretty stoked about hosting the Olympics.

living in chicago we are already plauged with horrific traffic. especially in the summers. so i'm not so much worried about the traffic, epecially since i am hoping by that time i will be car free!

It shouldn't cost anything in texes unless Daley lied as he promised to not use any tax funds to pay for the Olympic stuff.
