it might be that cold and keep in mind that the race this year is two weeks later (last year on oct 9 and this year on oct 22nd) the gloves might just be for the first few miles too.
Cold does not bother me. If the lake and wind is as calm as it was in that picture we are golden. I think I will e-mail that to my group just to get them fired up a bit.
i love that little clip. I wish the full movie was going to be out before the race, but i think i heard it's slated for the end of the year. so we'll see.
I think I saw me...I was the guy in the hat. Leah, did you get one of those custom made DVDs that has footage of you running? I got it last year, it's very cool....I look like a goof...but a cool thing to have for the memories.
Ya, after two miles, you begin to 'shed the layers'.
no I didn't get the video. It probably would have been nice to have, although I probably would have been caught swearing at the pain and that wouldn't be such a nice memory :-)
When they show Deanna running, her stride is so freakin' amazing. oh to be so fast. I'm not giving up on the olympics though....all those marathoners are like in their 30s....which gives me like 3 years to get my act together...and shrink by 7 inches and get lighter by 40 pounds! Those elite women are so tiny!
With the training you and Jason are doing, I have no doubt you two will soon be known as the world's fastest physicists.
I was discouraged at first to discover that most male runners start when they are much younger than I am (37). But I was passed by a lot of older men and women this past Sunday. Most of them appeared comfortable, even graceful. Perhaps running is one sport where age is an advantage.
You have at least another three decades to pull off amazing things.

Pretty cool!! But why are so many people wearing GLOVES??? Will it be that cold in Chicago on race day?? If so...I better prepare myself now!

That was awesome. Thanks so much for sharing!! I'm a little confused though, are they making a full-length feature/documentary film on it??
Pardon my blonde moment.
Wow, that gave me a lump in my throat!
yeah i think it's going to be a full length movie, but I can't find when it will be released or anything.
I think exciting! Did you see the stride length of the Kenya's that is amazing!

yeah it's totally awesome. When I watched that the first time I was so pumped (and terrified!) it's going to be a great (!!!) race.
That is great! I can't wait for October to roll around.
