5 Miles

Yesterday just as we were getting ready to head out for our 5 mile run, I noticed something bad in my analysis. I don't know if it's exactly bad, but it's something I don't understand and so of course I was freaking out about it. "Oh I'm not good enough for this, smart enough...." and so on. So a Leah with a frown which just wouldn't turn upside down headed out for a 5 mile run. The run was nice and quick and smooth, although forget about passing the "talking test", Jason and I were barely passing the breathing test. But who cares, if feels so good to go out and pound concrete and try and work out those little annoyances of the day. I don't know what I would do at the end of those days if I didn't have running. It's my therapy.

After the run we tried to make fajitas with the left over steak we made the night before and I don't think they were very good. Way WAY too salty. Jason said they were fine, but I am very sensitive to salt, in that I hate it and I had to down a bottle of gatorade to feel normal again.

Today I wait (patiently) for my Garmin 205. It has arrived in Chicago according to the UPS and is on schedule for delivery today. I hope it's in an earlier wave of deliveries though because I want to be able to charge it and take it out for our planned 7 miler. Stay Tuned!!!

I brought my new Garmin to work today.  I'm starting to annoy my co-workers.  I think they are just jealous.

I can't wait for my first Garmin run tonight!

I wish I had a Garmin! I can't wait until you give us your review after you have tried it. I bet you won't be able to stop staring at the screen during your first run with it.

Here is a another essential piece of running gear you should buy next.

Cool! Make sure you give me your review after you watch Saint Ralph. Every friend I've "lent" Saint Ralph to has absolutely loved it and said "I want to permanently add that to my DVD collection".

The first time I watched it I was with my older brother and a friend from my swim team. After the movie ended, we just sat there in stunned silence for a couple of minutes, watching the credits before somebody finally said "Man, that was pretty much a masterpiece".

Well? Did the Garmin arrive yet? I'm so excited for you!

no it's not here yet!!! although I am going to break the screens of my windows leaning against them every time a car drives by to see if it's a UPS truck. How could it go out for delivery so early and not be here yet. grumble!

I can't wait to hear about the Garmin! I have the 301, but am curious to know if the 205 and 305 pick up the satellites better.
Mine has some faults, but I don't know what I would do without it...I can't imagine running any kind of distance without one anymore.
You will love it I'm sure.
