I told myself I wasn't going to do this, I wasn't going to hit refresh on weather.com every other minute because the weather will be what it will be and there isn't anything you can do about it. Ok. so I peeked. Leave me alone. Could it be more opposite from last year :
So if the weather all moves back a day, we are good, if it moves up a day....85 degrees and thunderstorms....uh...that's horrible! Race day weather looks way too warm. Paces all go up a little when the weather is warm....and 78 degrees is not just a "little" warm.
Sigh. Well we have a week to go so it's still early to look at the temps. Hopefully we'll have Monday's weather!

No worries, Leah. It's a lot better than last year. Rain would be very bad the spectators and those who are planning to cheer for the runners on race day.
Still one week to go!
who cares about the spectators....not to be mean, but they aren't out there running the marathon, so for them I could care less what the weather is. For the runners an 80 degree day would be bad...although thank god the spectators would be ok. sorry....crabby over here on the west side, and I foudn that last year there were still tons of spectators even though it wsa really cold.
Hey, I agree who cares about the spectators - they can go and get coffee, drink soda, or do whatever it is to be comfortable. The race is for the runners! I hope it is not to warm or rainy - you have worked hard and deserve a great day. I admit though last year I checked the weather at least twice a day for two weeks. Don't fret too much and my fingers are crossed for all of the runners out there.
Another in agreement with Leah and Nicole. Give them umbrellas, shorts, or parkas for optimal spectatoring. It's not their day.
Give me 50-something degree weather for optimal race day conditions. Pardon me for being picky.
Sheesh!
Hey hun...accuweather shows a high of 72 on Sunday with a feel of '68'. Slightly better than 78.
Agreed, Leah. I'm crossing my fingers for good weather for you, not for me (a spectator). I think you'll be fine. Remember, it's not going to be that warm early in the morning.
Heh, funny... I'm having the same freak out today. I've tried NOT checking the weather but I can't help it! I hate running in the heat and have had problems in the past with getting nauseous in warmer temps. I'm officially starting to panic!
From the National Weather Service (which is more reliable than the weather channel):
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73.
They don't have hour by hour yet or % chance of percipitation. Cloudy and 73 sounds much better than close to 80!
Relax, it's all good Leah. You can bend the world to your will, just think positive.
That's weird, the Chicago Tribune weather center reports this for Sunday... it sounds a lot like last year!
67/40 Cloudy, windy and turning much cooler with showers. Morning highs in the 60s fall into the 50s in the afternoon. Lows near 40 degrees.
