Yesterday we ran....yep we ran a whole 4 MILES!!!! I'm not sure what the average pace was, but somewhere under 9min/miles and under 10min/miles, which is right about where we should be.
The rest of the week is looking like :
Thur : 9 miles
Friday: 5 miles
Saturday : Movie marathon on my couch
Sunday : 18...really...what....ok
That's the idea anyways. We'll have to see how Sunday goes, but I am planning on just taking it slow and steady and hopefully it won't be too cold to enjoy it....I'm guess the iPod will be taken with Eye of the Tiger and Unwritten on repeat. That's right, I love that song Unwritten. shut up.
Jason and I are also looking into joining a gym. Has anyone been a member of Cheetah gyms in the city? Aside from the high initial (called initiation fee.....i hope that doesn't involve jason dressing up as a woman) it seems reasonable for 2 people. I am also interested in Crunch gyms....from looking at their website...they look wacky. For the rest of the month they have a fre cheap starting fee. If anyone has any tips on either of these places please let me know. Or if you know of something else....I did like the YMCA in lakeview, but it's not near my house anymore.
9 miles tonight.....only 9....I can handle that.

Unwritten!? Seriously?
have you seen the terrible taste in music that I have? how could I even consider making fun of you?
(and, um, I really like that song too. so you can tell all those making fun of you to shuuuuuuuut up.)
An alternative to joining a gym would be to buy a good quality flat-to-incline bench and several dumbbells of different weights. With just that equipment, you can do almost anything that you could do at a gym. In the long run, you'll save money. You'll also save time because you don't have to go to the gym.
Some people need the gym atmosphere to get them motivated to lift weights. But you don't need that because you've got Jason to say "C'mon! Five more! You can do it! All you! All you!".
Just my two cents.
Isn't Crunch a part of the Bally Total Fitness brand of gyms? If so, those are decent.
Just make sure you don't sign a long term contract anywhere. Those are bad....
joe-
we have thought about just buying weights, but our very tiny apartment isn't great for a bench...as in not at all. Plus I would like to take some pilates/yoga/ab classes if they were offered. As soon as we have a house I am sure we are going to buy a bench and weights and not go to a gym.....
This comment stream isn't as much fun as the one for the last post.
So let me interject some spice.
Join Ballys/Crunch and ROOT FOR THE COLTS!
-or-
Join Cheetah and ROOT FOR THE BEARS!
(either way, you can still hate Tom Brady)
I love Bally's myself, but I wished I belonged to Lifetime Fitness.
